Special Education Needs and Disability Information
SENCO: Mrs Vickie Gocmen E-mail: v.gocmen@eastborough.viat.org.uk
Intent:
To ensure that all children achieve at their full potential regardless of any educational needs or disabilities. All children are offered equal access to the curriculum and additional activities such as trips and clubs.
Implementation:
We do this by using a range of Quality First Teaching strategies which are enhanced, for some children, with a range of additional resources, interventions or support. We also make full use of the Local Offer, available here: https://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/special-educational-needs.
The school uses a graduated approach to identifying and meeting special educational needs. This means that as the need becomes greater, more resources are used to support the child and more adults are involved. At all stages of the process the school works closely with parents/carers for the benefit of the child.
Impact:
Children in the school are aware of the support strategies that are available to them. They are confident in their learning regardless of their needs. Children across the school make progress against their individualised targets and outcomes.

Any complaints from parents of children with SEND should be directed to Dr A. Ekins, SEN Director for the Trust.

A local offer gives SEND children and young people and their families information about which support services are available in their area.
