Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize
At the end of 2022, a group of children from East Borough took part in judging the Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize. This involved reading and discussing the six books shortlisted for the prize, going on a quest to meet scientists and engineers in past and present history, finding answers to the world's most pressing challenges and discovering the wide range of life forms on Earth, from the incredible world of microbes to the wolves of Yellowstone Park. On 7th March 2023, the winning book was announced and we were pleased to see it was the same one our judging panel chose: If the World were 100 People. This book, along with the other five shortlisted titles, are available to borrow in our school library. A video showing our judging panel process can be seen here:
