Intent

At East Borough, we recognise the importance of digital literacy in the ever-evolving world. The curriculum we offer allows pupils an opportunity to develop skills that ensure they work safely online and will also enable them to succeed later in life.
Through comprehensive coverage of the National Curriculum, East Borough pupils gain a thorough depth of knowledge in the three main strands of Computing, which comprises Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy with online safety.
The Computing curriculum identifies the composites (endpoints) for each unit of work with components planned sequentially to enable all pupils to build on their skill base and knowledge. This progression ensures that pupils know more and remember more over time.
All pupils receive dedicated computing curriculum time and specialised teaching. Combined with an extra-curricular offer, we are confident that the East Borough pupils are well-equipped with the knowledge, skills and cultural capital they will need to succeed in life.
