Our amazing PTA!
We want to highlight the amazing work that the members of the PTA and volunteers do on behalf of the children and families of East Borough.
Each year, they organise and run a number of events to raise money to buy much needed items for classrooms, games or equipment and this year, they were in a position to be able to make a substantial contribution towards school trips. This has been an amazing investment which supports parents during the tricky financial climate.
2023-2024 school trips that have been subsidised by PTA.
- Year R – Wingham £25 per child, PTA £15 per child contribution.
- Year 1 – Hever Castle £20.80 per child, PTA £15 per child contribution.
- Year 2 – Howletts £18 per child, PTA £12 per child contribution.
- Year 3 – Kent Life Viking Day £16 per child, PTA £10 per child contribution.
- Year 4 – Matilda, £44 per child, PTA £20 per child contribution.
- Year 5 – Horton Kirby river trip, £20 per child, PTA £15 per child contribution.
- Year 6 – Kent Life £16 per child, PTA £10 per child contribution.
- Year 6 - Safety in Action £12 per child, PTA £5 per child contribution (this is a standing item year on year as it is so educational and beneficial for the children).
Total for the year = £6,528.
Additionally, the PTA has also paid for the Year 6 Leavers’ books, water bottles and transition packs for the new EYFS intake, new rugs for the Year 3 classrooms, £30 donation towards a Christmas present for each class – amongst other things.
We would like to say a great big THANK YOU to all of our core PTA members and to anyone who has volunteered to help at an event. You are making such a difference.
The even better news, is that at the PTA meeting last week, it was agreed that the PTA are in a position to support school trips again next year.
We are so lucky to have such a pro-active group of volunteers and, if you would also like to support at events, there's always room for more!
